At one point in Joni’s life, she worked at an exotic animal safari where she learned never to try and outrun an ostrich, and that water buffalos like carrots. One of her biggest challenges at the safari was to gather up the ostrich eggs, which is how she learned you can’t outrun an ostrich. Some of her favorite things to do are to spend time boating, swimming and soaking up the sun. Joni says her favorite things now are a little less stressful than working at the safari.

Lakesha Miller is the the Assistant Director of Property Management for our John Carroll University Portfolio in University Heights, Ohio. Her 9-year career in property management has been filled with very diverse opportunities that have not only continuously educated her in the industry, but have also nurtured her work ethic in a way that has intensified her desire to be the best contribution to an organization that she can be. Her career began with leasing and quickly matured with amazing opportunities such as training leasing professionals at various properties throughout the City of Cleveland’s suburban and downtown locations. She has had the pleasure of managing, as well as, co-managing multi-million dollar renovation projects such as the complete revision of the National Terminal Towers of Downtown Cleveland (once a tax credit community), and transitioning the residential and commercial facility into an elaborate luxury apartment community that entailed a complete and successful lease-up. To know Lakesha Miller, is to understand her extremely passionate heart and resilient mindset. In December of 1995, while being a 5-year member of a traveling performing arts chorus called The Singing Angels, Lakesha sang the lead solo of “All I Want for Christmas”, a Mariah Carey rendition, to President William J. Clinton at a political convention held at the Renaissance Hotel. The very moment that he said, “Thank ya Lakesha!”, to the very nervous 15 year old girl standing on stage, while plastered on the huge projector, marked one of the most memorable moments of her life.
